Ustaz Ashraf Anwar completed his double degree in Cairo, Egypt, at the prestigious and internationally renowned Al-Azhar University, studying at the Faculty of Theology and Islamic Culture, and at the Faculty of Arabic Language and Islamic Studies at the American University of Cairo. He received his Qur’anic Ijazah from Sheikh Shazly, Masjid Soleh Ja’fary, Cairo. He is now pursuing his Masters Degree in International Relations at Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University. Ustaz Ashraf Anwar has extensively been involved and was featured in numerous interfaith initiatives and programs. In 2017, he was appointed by Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (MUIS) to give a presentation at the Saint Francis Xavier Major Seminary on Islamic Shariah. He was also recently appointed and nominated by the Japan Foundation and Cultural Centre to represent Singapore and MUIS, and discuss on Islam across various universities in Japan.
Ustaz Ashraf Anwar is currently a senior docent and was formerly an Executive at Singapore’s Harmony Centre, under the auspices of the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (MUIS). In addition to that, he also serves as the youngest board member at the An-Nahdhah Mosque located at Bishan Singapore. He is also a teacher at SimplyIslam’s Weekend Islamic School, teaching students at the tertiary level.
Ustaz Ashraf Anwar is accredited under the Asatizah Recognition Scheme (ARS) by the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (MUIS).
