The Illuminating Light (s)
Discussions, Dhikr & Maulid with Shaykh Dr. Gibril Haddad

A famous narration, known as the hadith of Jabir after the Companion (ra) who is said to relate it from the Prophet (upon him blessings and peace), states that “the first thing Allah created was the light of your Prophet, O Jabir, which He created out of His own light.” Each of these three components – firstness in creation, light, and creation “out of God’s own light” – is independently confirmed in the Qur’an, Hadith, and poetic testimonials of the Companions.

In conjunction with the holy month of Rabiulawal, the month of the birth of Sayyidina Muhammad salallahu alaihi wasallam, SimplyIslam is organising this special discussion with a visiting accomplished Islamic scholar, Shaykh Gibril Haddad, who will discuss the hadith and aspects of the station of Sayyidina Muhammad (s). After the discussions, Shaykh Gibril will lead us in a short dhikr and the recitation of Maulid Ad-Diba’i. Dinner will be served after maghrib prayers.

SimplyIslam.sg presents Journey to Ihsan – A SimplyIslam Seekers’ Retreat.

Ihsan means beneficence, performance of good deeds, and it implies the doing of good deeds over and above what is just and fair. It is indicative of the intense devotion of man towards his Creator and Master and his enthusiasm for virtue and piety. The aim of Ihsan is to create a sense of inner piety in man and to train his sensibilities in a way that all his thoughts and actions flow from the fountainhead of the love of Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala.

Indeed we are living in a period of great technological advancements, colossal political and economic challenges, frequent natural calamities, and personal tribulations. Muslims are realising that getting closer to the Love of Allah and His Messenger (s) is the way of reconciling the great tribulations of this age. Young and old, they are turning towards Islamic spirituality.

Throughout the centuries Islam has always been conveyed in a holistic fashion, through the articles of Islam, Iman and Ihsan. At SimplyIslam, and at this Seekers’ Retreat, we want to explore the wealth of knowledge in spiritual sciences, and heritage of wisdom written and taught by learned scholars of the past and present. Several local and international scholars will draw out this treasure of knowledge and scholarship, through which insha’Allah, we can effect great spiritual affluence and refinement of character.

Among the most critical need for Muslims today is to understand and embrace the concept of Ihsan as exemplified by Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, and his sincere companions and followers. Through Ihsan we can enhance human values, character, spirituality and our relationship with society, community and the world. Through the discourses in this Retreat, seekers will learn to manage their lives as a Muslim and assimilate traditional and spiritual values in the modern world.

Join us in this Seekers’ Retreat, and embark upon this voyage of the soul ~ the Journey to Ihsan.

The good or the sacrifice that someone does for you

In all these factors, we find our beloved Prophet Muhammad SAW foremost in them. Who could be more physically attractive than the one who is more attractive than even Prophet Yusuf AS? Whose character could be more perfect than the one who is “above sublime character” (Quran 68:4) and who was “sent to teach good manners” (Hadith)? His (s) overwhelming sacrifice for us is insurmountable and beyond our comprehension.

How are we able to emulate the lofty characteristics of a Prophet that was praised by Allah for them? Is it possible for us to express our love for and gratitude to him (s) by writing poetry like the Qasidah Burdah of Imam Busairi that stands the test of time? Shaykh Hisham will bring us on a journey in knowing and loving our Prophet Muhammad and sharing with us tips on how we can follow in his (s) footsteps.

Introduction
SimplyIslam Singapore presents the Camp Rabbani, a camp and retreat for youths. The Camp Rabbani brings together Muslim youths (ages 13 to 17) for some fun-filled days of Islamic living, learning and inspirational experiences. Our theme for this year’s camp is “Attitude for Gratitude”.

The camp is a 3 days 2 nights camp at the Edventure village, Tanjong Piai Resort, at Pontian, Johore. The breathtaking sunsets of Tanjung Piai EdVenture Village and magnificent sea front provide a very conducive environment for student and teachers to experience challenges, increase awareness and learn more about themselves and others. Tanjung Piai EdVenture Village is located in Pontian, Johore, Malaysia and is a place you must visit due to its many unique features. Geographically, it is the southernmost tip of the Asian mainland. The hinterland of Tanjung Piai offers the rural charms of remote villages, rich in their ethnic and cultural diversity. Tanjung Piai EdVenture Village will give you a chance to experience rural life in proximity and also its natural wonders. The resort is only about 90 minutes from the hustle and bustle of Singapore.

The camp includes exciting yet enriching programs, motivational workshops, team building games, spiritual and religious enlightenment activities, reflections of Gratitude, practicing the Sunnah and many more!
